Toren not turning to rentals

Toren

Contrary to rumors, Toren, the high-rise condominium going up at 150 Myrtle Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, won't be turning into rentals. BFC Partners, the developers on the project, has made this clear. Of the building's 240 units, 50 apartments were sold in the first 40 days of sales, and 42 units of affordable housing are also in contract. Don Capoccia of BFC Partners said buyers are attracted to the building for its Gold LEED certification; it even has a cogeneration plant that will supply power and protect residents from brownouts and blackouts. Capoccia is profiled in this month's issue of The Real Deal.
