Newark mayor pushes for Nets

Cory Booker

Newark Mayor Cory Booker officially wants the Nets to move to Newark. "The Nets were made for Newark," he said. "It's the comeback city. And I think the Nets will be the comeback team in the NBA, and they should do it here." The Real Deal first reported in April that investors were pushing Nets owner and developer Bruce Ratner to relocate the team to Newark and instead of the Barclays Center, at the Atlantic Yards development. Ratner has maintained that the Nets will move from the Meadowlands to Downtown Brooklyn, not Newark.

Booker should worry more about keeping people from getting mugged outside of Penn Station then trying to get a basketball team.

New Jersey is not good for anything. I've been there once.
