Museum moves to Columbus Circle

2 Columbus Circle

The Museum of Arts and Design is scheduled to open at 2 Columbus Circle on September 27. The nine-story, 54,000-square-foot building is almost triple the size of the museum's last space at West 53rd Street, and will include a 155-seat theater, a restaurant and a permanent collection display. The museum's construction was delayed due to legal battles with preservationists, and pushed the project's budget from $50 million to $95 million.
