Down market sends commercial brokers packing



Some young office and retail brokers are expected to leave the business by the end of the year because of the weakening real estate market. Older brokers say the newbies who quit are discouraged by the lack of deals and commissions. Experienced commercial brokers are subsisting with their large rolodexes of clients, but during the downturn they are less willing to share business with junior colleagues who might be having trouble.
