Atlantic Yards' Nets arena faces more delays

The Nets basketball arena at Atlantic Yards might not be ready until 2011, a year later than Forest City Ratner had hoped. The news comes as a new state lawsuit has been filed against the project by Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn over the use of eminent domain. "Far from emerging from a legitimate democratic process where the public interest is identified and articulated," the suit says, "the Project is the product of a developer's dream, and a conscious effort to bypass City procedures mandating meaningful local review, planning, democratic oversight and community input."
